The Cimbalom is the first instrument featured in the Bolder Sounds Hammered Dulcimer Trilogy.
The Cimbalom is a zither instrument of the Hungarian Gypsies, and may be tracked back in history to the Orient and the Middle East. An early known version of this instrument in Arabia was called the Kannun. Today an instrument in wide use of this same family is the Hammered Dulcimer. The largest of these instruments is the Cimbalom. It is the national musical instrument of Hungary and is used in the Classical and Folk Music as frequently as Piano. Music from classical to gypsy and jazz to rock is played on the Cimbalom.
Sampled articulations include mezzo forte and forte chromatic mallet sustain samples. Also included are damper pedal muted samples as well as chromatically sampled rolls (tremolo). The Kronos programming breaks down each articulation and presents them as separate programs. From there, they are combined in various combinations. The last 7 programs feature the Cimbalom layered with various Kronos ROM samples. The huge resonant sound of the Cimbalom will expand your KRONOS tone palette in ways that few other instruments can.
Note: The order of the factory Programs is arranged differently among NAUTILUS, KRONOS2, KRONOS X and the original KRONOS. This affects sounds which reference the factory Programs. Please download the file which matches your product model.
Note: This title for NAUTILUS requires EXs315 additionally to produce the Programs and the Drum Tracks perfectly.
