In the second half of the 1970s, some manufacturers started with the concept design of the digital sound generation by the real-time modelling of virtually all signal parameters. At that time, such a concept, however, was allotted little success due to the rather limited computing power. Luckily, the pioneering idea to make digital recordings the basis for the creation of musical sounds could be implemented by then. The amazing musical possibilities triggered tremendous enthusiasm all over the world. And so the first digital sampler was born in 1979. Meanwhile, this instrument has become a legend.
